The WACO network, established in 1973, currently comprises 125 leading international logistics and freight forwarding companies operating across 121 countries, employing over 21,000 professionals worldwide. The network handles approximately 1.85 million shipments annually, across both air and sea freight.
Eyal Aharoni and Shay Inzelberg, Co-CEOs, commented:
“The trust placed in Maayan Group by WACO represents a significant milestone in our company’s development. As one of Israel’s leading international freight forwarding and customs brokerage groups, we are committed to excellence and innovation, opening new markets and offering unique services — including from countries within the Abraham Accords as well as many other global destinations.
We take great pride in our dedicated, professional, and responsive team, available around the clock to provide solutions and support for every logistics need.”
Richard Charles, CEO of WACO, added:
“The Board is pleased to announce the immediate appointment of Maayan Group as WACO’s representative in Israel. We look forward to close cooperation and are confident that Maayan’s inclusion will bring significant value to all network members.”
Michael Even, VP Commercial, stated:
“Since its inception, WACO’s policy has been to appoint a single representative per country — a principle that continues to guide the network today. In 2023, WACO celebrates its 50th anniversary with a major international event attended by senior executives from leading global freight forwarding companies within the network.
Headquartered in the UK, the organization is driven by its member companies, many of which are among the world’s top logistics providers.
As WACO’s exclusive representative in Israel, Maayan Group will significantly enhance its business value, expand its customer base, and further strengthen its areas of expertise.”
Founded in 1977 by Uzi Aharoni and the late Jackie Nagler, Maayan Group, Maayan Overseas, the company’s freight forwarding arm — has undergone significant transformation in recent years. Leadership has transitioned to the second generation, alongside the expansion of senior management and the strengthening of a highly skilled and professional workforce.
